About Mari Mari

Mari Mari is a reinterpretation of heritage – the jewelry we wear today and the personal, familial stories. As the daughter of a goldsmith, born into a family with a long tradition of jewelers and craftsmen, my childhood was woven with golden threads of memories of jewelry and my father's workshop, customers and gifts, tools and metals, gemstones and pearls. The drawers of my father's workshop, filled with metal parts, unfinished, and sometimes forgotten jewelry, represented a sparkling discovery for me, akin to finding a buried treasure chest. Playing with oversized rings and bulky earrings on a little girl's tiny earlobes eventually became a childhood memory, as my curiosity about life led me down different paths. However, in a world that changed rapidly and unexpectedly, where jewelry became commonplace and the pearl became more of an old-fashioned memory of a grandmother than a timeless wonder of nature, I felt the need to peek into the drawers of my childhood again. I wanted to reinterpret and reshape my family's connection with jewelry, as well as the entire history of noble materials, gemstones, and everything that has served people throughout history to express themselves and create memories through jewelry.

Mari Mari is a contemporary-nostalgic homage to jewelry and my family, a name that plays with two Marias. One Maria, my great-grandmother, was a teacher at a time when most women were barely literate. For me, she symbolizes the past and nostalgia, a distant shift from what was then common. The other Maria represents today, a time when this beautiful tradition is continued by women. Mari Mari aims to interpret the nostalgic idea of jewelry we wear every day in a modern and feminine way, valuing and preserving it for tomorrow.

I want to offer jewelry that brings a positive twist to the lives of my clients and puts a period on all negativities, fears, and defeats. Jewelry that is not mystified but can contribute to the positive building of the future through its actions and messages.
